Here are today’s top three stories at Cedar Park-Leander:

  1. Rouse High School, located at 1222 Raider Way in Leander, received a potential bomb threat on Tuesday morning. The Leander Police Department sheltered the students instead of evacuating the school while police searched for suspicious items. No suspicious items were found and the school resumed normal operations at 10:40 a.m. (KVIEW)
  2. Students at Summit Christian Academy in Cedar Park have started three new sustainability projects at their school. Environmental science teacher Melissa Tapperson challenged students to find ways to make the campus “greener.” Student Klein Coburn ran a recycling project where they make sure recycling goes to the correct bins. Another student, Kylie Millican, led a fashion show to show students that recycling and second-hand clothes can be fun and stylish. A third student, Kate Norris, led a gardening project where students grow food for the school cafeteria. (KXAN)
  3. The Leander Activity Center, located at 11880 Hero Way West, is now open to the public. The center offers recreational activities for all ages, summer programs for youth and community events. There will be a meeting for teens ages 12-17 on April 26 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to share ideas for teen programming and events. (Community Impact Journal)
