Auburn Senior Activity Center has a lot to offer

The Auburn Senior Activity Center offers the Auburn senior community a variety of classes, activities, and tours throughout the year. Here is an overview of what they have to offer:

Classes at the activity center range from academic to art. The center offers AARP’s nationally recognized safe driving class. Students in this class can refresh their driving skills and learn how to become a more efficient and safer driver.

In addition to driving, the resource center also offers a Spanish study group for those interested in improving their language proficiency. The center’s website suggests this is for people who already speak the language at an intermediate level.

Interested in expressing your creative side? The Senior Activity Center has you covered, with its two painting classes. Whether you’ve never touched a paintbrush or are working on Sistine Chapel 2.0, acrylic and watercolor classes are open to all levels.

Want to go out and see something new? The resource center offers a variety of trips and tours throughout the year, according to the website. Trips vary in length from an afternoon for lunch to a 2-3 day excursion. The trip schedule is subject to change, but you can find details of upcoming trips on the Auburn Senior Activity Center website.

The Senior Activity Center is also a Silver Sneakers site, which means people 65 and older who have Medicare can take free Silver Sneakers fitness classes at the center. People 50 and older can take Silver Sneakers classes for a fee.
