LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Grimm + Parker Architects received the AIA Chesapeake Bay 2021 Merit Award for Non-Residential New Construction for the Leonardtown Library & Garvey Senior Activity Center.

St. Mary’s County Commissioners approved funding for the Leonardtown Library & Garvey Senior Activity Center project in fiscal year 2018, and construction was completed in 2020. The building includes multipurpose space, including a library at full service and several areas of activities and programs.

Commissioner’s Chair Randy Guys said, “We are very proud of this facility and the wonderful amenities that are available to our citizens. I would like to commend the Department of Public Works and Transportation for their leadership throughout the project. »
