Orland Township Activity Center to Host Events in February

The Township of Orland activity center will finally be operating at full capacity starting in February.

The center of activities in the township of Orland should fully resume its activities from February.

The announcement comes just two weeks after the Orland Township Activity Center decided to take precautionary measures and temporarily operate under limited use for the public during the last peak of COVID-19 in January; a choice made with great thought and consideration for the health and well-being of residents.

“We are taking all necessary precautions to keep our community safe, especially for our elderly residents.” Says supervisor Paul O’Grady.

“But we are thrilled to finally be able to welcome them back for more fun in February, including Senior Drop-In.”

The drop-in will resume on Thursdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. and will take place at the Orland Township Seniors Activity Center. Residents MUST register in advance and are limited to one drop-in per week.

In addition, residents will be able to attend the annual Township February Luncheon which will be held on February 10. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy catering from Italian restaurant Rocco Vino, and Blake Alexander will perform music from artists like Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, and more.

Tickets, costing $15, can be purchased for the event at Orland Township, 14807 S Ravinia Ave. Feel Fabulous February, the township’s winter craft show, will take place at 6 p.m. the same day, with a $5 donation collected at the door.

In accordance with CCDPH Mitigation Order 2021-11, a valid photo ID along with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccination card, photo of vaccination card, digital record of A vaccination card or printed record of a vaccination card is required for entry.

Additionally, anyone two years of age and older who can medically tolerate a mask must wear a mask when indoors in a public place, regardless of their vaccination status; except when eating or drinking while stationary.
