5:32 a.m. – MPs responded to a trade alert in Hoaglin Canton.

10:03 a.m. – Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township. A 2003 Chevy Tahoe SUV, operated by William J. Stanton, 62, of BeavercreekOhio, was heading south on U.S. Route 127. A 2020 Peterbilt semi-tractor, operated by Thomas E. bivouac70, of Adrian, Michigan, was heading north on US 127. Stanton’s vehicle crossed the center line and swept into the driver’s side of bivouacit’s semi. The Chevy Tahoe and the Peterbilt
semi sustained heavy damage and was towed off the scene. The driver, William Stanton, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Stanton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office. bivouac suffered no apparent injuries. Sheriff Riggenbach
said the crash is still under investigation. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ohio City Fire and EMS, Van Wert Fire and EMS, Hague Towing, Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office.

11:34 a.m. – Deputies responded to a residence in Pleasant Township to investigate a theft complaint.

11:47 a.m. — Deputies responded in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court and took custody of James Jewell, 40, of Van Wert, for breach of probation. Subject is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

1 p.m. — Deputies responded to a residence in Harrison Township to investigate a burglary complaint.

1:53 p.m. – Deputies responded to the village of Ohio City to help a subject locked out of their vehicle.

1:57 p.m. – Deputies responded to a location in the town of Van Wert to help a subject locked out of his vehicle.

3:19 p.m. – Dog Warden responded to an area of ​​the town of Van Wert following a complaint about a stray dog.

4 p.m. – Deputies served a warrant issued by the Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for breach of duty. Nathaniel D. Owens, 24, is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility pending court.

5:32 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence in the town of Van Wert to help a subject locked out of their vehicle.

6:16 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence in Harrison Township to check on the welfare of a subject suffering from a mental crisis.

7 p.m. – Deputies served a warrant issued by a Putnam County court for failure to appear. Jeanie Palmer was taken into custody in Ridge Township and transferred to Putnam County authorities.

7:42 p.m. – Deputies responded to a residence in Jackson Township to investigate a complaint about a hitting mailbox.

9:51 p.m. – Deputies responded to an area of ​​U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township over a report of pavement debris.

10:08 p.m. — Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert Common Pleas Court for breach of duty. Ricky Lynn Shupe42, of Van Wert, was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility while awaiting court.

10:17 p.m. – Deputies responded to a location in the town of Van Wert to help a subject locked out of his vehicle.

11:10 p.m. – Deputies responded to a Liberty Township location to investigate a suspicious activity complaint.
