Have you ever passed through Wellington on I-25 and wondered about the unmarked metal building just south of Ziggi’s Coffee? This building has slowly taken shape over the past few years next to the Tabby Road Animal Hospital. There were rumors on Let’s Talk Wellington that it could be a daycare or recreation center for the town. But now the building is leased by Trailhead Church and serves as the Trailhead Activity Center for Wellington.

Trailhead invites you to tour the building, enjoy a free grilled burger or hot dog, play a free laser tag game, and have fun with your kids in the bouncy house! On Monday, July 5, from 4-7 p.m., the Trailhead Activity Center is hosting a Block Party and Open House at its location at 7250 5th Street, Wellington. It will be a fun time for the whole family.

There’s already a lot going on inside the activity center. Currently, the HOPE Learning Center provides licensed preschool and daycare opportunities for our city. Summer care is provided for children ages three to twelve, and for children attending three or more days per week, HOPE offers a very competitive rate of $39 per day.

In addition to the HOPE Learning Center, the Trailhead Activity Center hosts classes and community groups that meet throughout the week. These classes range from cheerleading and dance lessons to art and music lessons. And as unlikely as it may seem, the activity center is also home to a state-of-the-art, two-story 3,000 square foot laser tag facility. Since there is currently nothing quite like it in Wellington, this laser tag facility will be a great place to host birthday parties and special events for groups of children, youth or co-workers.

The Trailhead Church also holds worship services at the activity center each weekend. Regular service hours are Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The church offers age-appropriate classes during services and youth group meetings at other times of the week.
